Stories behind pictures

Location: Kambalakonda, Vizag

Date: October 10, 2006

This is probably my earliest attempt at landscape photography (trying to sound a bit professional...) . I was about 17 when I took this picture. I still remember that day... for a long time Jab had this idea of going to this nature reserve called Kambalakonda. So one day we chalked out the whole thing and put the proposal in front of our respective parents.

Don't know what his parents said but here i got "The Stare". As usual I was able to work my charm on them and they agreed (i think mom got used to my bag of tricks... the magic doesn't seem to work now-a-days). So finally we were off to Kambalakonda on the condition that Jab's parents accompany us. (No problemo!!!)

My expectations about the place were very low initially because Vizag is generally known for it's beaches and Araku... But wow!!! This place is amazing!!! From outside, it looks like the entrance to a normal zoo... But inside it's the best wildlife Vizag has to offer. There's a lake right in the middle of lush green hills and trails all around the lake.

A few months later, we went with a larger group of friends (around 7 i think) and by then it had become a lover's sanctuary..!!!
And a few more years later, I heard it became some type of tourist resort.
Sad isn't it? But I'm glad I was able to see the true Kambalakonda before it got spoiled by vast "picnic families" and coke bottles.

My thoughts on Man of Steel

For me Man of Steel is a really entertaining and thought-provoking movie. Let me make it clear that it’s not the greatest comic-book movie...
